Youth Wellness
As part of our Healthy Schools partnership with Island Health, we are pleased to announce that Public Health Youth Wellness Clinics will be offered at Spectrum!
WEDNESDAY WELLNESS CLINIC
The Youth Wellness Clinic is open to Spectrum Community School students, every Wednesday morning from 9:30-11:30 on a drop-in basis.
Public health nurse, Kristina, promotes health by supporting youth at the school in a safe environment while acknowledging confidentiality and privacy.
LOCATION
The Wellness Clinic is located near the counselling office and across from the Main Office
PURPOSE
School-based wellness clinics enhance access to health promotion and prevention services for students while helping them take responsibility for their health and wellness. Youth clinic clinicians are client-centered and educated in trauma-informed practice and cultural safety.
Public health services include care, education, counselling, resources and/or referrals for:
• Immunization
• Mental health and wellness
• Healthy lifestyles
• Sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment
• Sexual decision-making and healthy relationships
• Contraceptive options
• Naloxone training and harm reduction supplies
